Upside Down Thinking

The headline of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for today reads, "Long-term fears pummel Dow." Of course, it's about the stock market and how economic indicators are leading investors to believe that our national recession is going to be rather lengthy. And, because it involves the true American god, money, people are afraid. It seems to me that they can't figure out that their fears are feeding the very thing they fear. And that, to me, is upside down thinking.

But the tragedy of upside down thinking in our country goes much deeper. Fear is running high about money right now, but what about fear for souls? Why don't our headlines give us more information about God's agenda and what is coming for those who have rejected His offer of salvation through Christ?

The answer is that, while we in America often tip our national hat to God, we don't bow our national knees. In many ways Americans acknowledge God, even by trying to legislate His limits in the public arena, but in very few ways is He truly worshipped anymore. America needs a good dose of Holy, healthy fear and respect for God and His power.

In Isaiah 13: 9, God said, "Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and He shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it." KJV.

Want something to fear? Forget about our financial future as a nation and fear the power of a God of love Who has called and blessed and patiently sought to redeem a stiff-necked nation that grows farther and farther away from His commands day by day! God will not be mocked! His day of wrath is coming! There is only one way to be ready, one way to escape it: Jesus Christ.

There will be no new posts until November 3rd. Please, in the meantime, be fervent in prayer for revival. Only the prayers of those who are already safe in Christ can touch Our Father's throne in petition for revival power to sweep our land. Pray for the greatest outpouring of the Holy Ghost that these United States have ever seen. Pray. Please pray. God will hear. He will bless. He will eventually send revival. Just don't give up and don't lose heart. Pray.

In His Love
Walter
